The August 2010 issue of News Photographer magazine features a cover story by Scott Jensen on Dave Delozier,  NPPA's first-ever Solo Video Journalist of the Year, who for more than  two years now has been going it alone at KUSA-TV in Denver and has never  looked back. Also in this issue, Stan Heist  writes about three top TV news stations, each winners of Station of the  Year honors in the Best Of Photojournalism competition. To carry on the  theme of video journalism and solo video journalists, Tom Kennedy  talks about what he discovered while researching backpack journalism as  it's practiced today while helping American University in Washington  design their new academic program.

The July 2010 issue of News Photographer magazine features a cover story by Anne Medley  about "Shooting For Truth: Teaching Multimedia In War-Torn Congo." In a  country known for treating journalists with brutality, Medley realized  that the cost of teaching her students to pursue the truth may someday  be their lives.
